Katie I had Danielle Stead Blanton create my employee contract. It’s a legal document so it’s good to have someone like her create your contacts. My workers compensation insurance company gave me a lot of resources for my employee handbook. I also referred to my state’s labor laws for employers. They usually have requirements about what needs to be posted for employees
I do an onboarding process with my new teachers. They are on a 90 day probation in which they are observing how we teach at the studio. Over the 90 days I slowly integrate them into teaching. Depending on the teachers experience they might be on a shorter probation term. Its all laid out in my contract with them. I found this helps them learn about our studio environment and helps me prepare them to teach. I get a lot of new teachers coming out of teacher training and they can be very green so I want to make sure they are a good fit for our community.
