If someone’s payment doesn’t go through, Momence tries 3X (because usually it’s that they got a new card and didn’t update) and then the membership is cancelled and so are all bookings. If this is an ongoing problem I would absolutely implement a policy and or fee to help stop it.

So I had a terrible experience with Recess. 🫣This was back in 2022, so hoping they’ve figured things out but it was so clunky and limited in capabilities and not user friendly on either side., mine or client. It was free, so I used it for what I needed temporarily but I really felt like I got what I paid for. Have you looked into Arketa? I haven’t used it, but I know they have a strong digital platform and in person capabilities.

I do pass of fees. No one has ever said a thing. But it’s also just been that way from the beginning, so it’s not a new thing for my clients. I imagine it would ruffle feathers if it was a new situation. I accommodate cash for packages (but they have to have a card on file for memberships) if someone asks, but I never take checks. They can do ACH too. I do not keep change in the studio either so if someone wants to pay cash they have to have exact change. I am also just one person doing most everything so just try to keep transactions as seamless and easy as possible. It also may be location specific too. Maybe New Yorkers are somehow less bothered by it?? 🤷‍♀️
