How would you want to hear about an instructor cutting back on hours? I can't sustainably work at two different studios in the same day. I need to drop 1 evening class at studio A to teach 2 morning classes at studio B. I don't want the owner at studio A to feel slighted as I'm cutting back hours for her studio and starting to work for a studio B at the same time

Can we talk sound systems/music options for our studios? We’re getting ready to start our buildout and I’m struggling with types of speakers to install.
We’ll have two rooms - one where group classes our held (mat, reformer, chair) and another where 1:1 sessions will be held. We have one Sonos in one room now and two hard wired speakers with a mixer, amp, all the things in the other.
We don’t use our microphones, so I’ll be selling our headsets and mixer and would like to limit the equipment needed. Does anyone just use Sonos? I’m thinking 4 Sonos speakers, 2 in each room, would suffice? It’s primarily for background/ambient noise, nothing is beat based.

Schedule / Substitute TeachersÂ
My Pilates studio is grappling with frequent sub requests (and unfortunate class cancellations when request can't be filled). Instructors are not full time employees, and many have chosen this career largely for its flexibility. How are other studios navigating schedule commitments with instructors?
I've personally been on both sides of the issue... most of my teaching career has been private/not committed to a studio's schedule because of the opportunity cost.
My team is discussing solutions... the idea of a financial "penalty" is being floated, but something about that just doesn't sit right with me.Â

‼️ “PAUSING” memberships ‼️
The summer has brought so many “hey I’m out of town for __ days this month, can you pause my membership?”
I do 8x, 12x & 20x per month, and am generous with skipping a whole month if need be, but when it comes to explaining why I can’t pause for say… 10 days, my brain literally goes to mush. Aside from prorating the month, and reducing passes, my business is just not set up this way.
Does anyone have an intelligent way to communicate this? Why is this so hard for me to put into words? 🤣

Hi Friends! It looks like I am getting new studio space! I can take possession August 1. It is large enough to have classes there while we are making it beautiful. I’m trying to decide if I should save the $$ and do that or keep using the space I’m in during the transformation until we have a grand opening. What are your thoughts? I want to do this right.
